Last year – 2010 – was the 50th anniversary of space research at Leicester.
We marked this anniversary with a 3-day meeting on July 6-8 2010. The meeting web page is still live (can be found here) and contains both copies of the talks and a vast collection of photos – both historical and photos taken at the meeting itself.
We are also putting together a book to record the events of those five decades, the successes and the failures, etc, so far as possible in the words of those involved.
We have set up these pages for former and current colleagues to be able to post their reminiscences, photos etc. relating to the last 50 years of space science at Leicester. In addition to potentially providing some material for the book, we hope this might be fun too.
You can add a comment to any of the material already posted here without logging in, but if you want to add something more substantial we encourage you to register (a very simple process) using the link at the left hand side of this page under “Meta”.
If you post something you can assign it to one or more specific categories if you want.
You can browse entries from the ”categories” links on the left, or access recent posts from the obvious links.
All comments and material posted will be “moderated” (ie have to be approved – this is to avoid the worst excesses of SPAM and other malicious users etc.) before they go live, but after you have made a few contributions we can add you to the automatically approved list so your contributions will appear immediately.
A few more ex-students/post docs for the list.

Hi Guys,
I will send my Rocket Man in pdf web form for this site if you think it appropriate (it must be!). I have been tinkering in my head for a continuation on a similar theme, but in more pertinent detail of the various Skylark Rounds I was invloved with. A nice winter project me thinks.
What do you think?
Cheers
